Introduction to Titus

Titus was a holy-person (Christian) of the Greek Gentile background who traveled with Paul and delivered Paul’s letters for him from time to time. See II Corinthians 2:13, 7:6, 13 and 14, 8:6, 16 and 23, 12:18; Galatians 2:1 and 3; II Timothy 4:10.

This letter (epistle) of Titus was written by Paul, the apostle, to Titus. He wrote this letter around the end of 67 A.D. some years after his release from prison in Rome recorded in Acts 28. Paul had just written the letter of First Timothy to Timothy and was now writing to Titus whom he left in Crete at that time to carry-out Paul’s instructions (see Titus 1:5). Shortly after this, Paul wrote his final letter of Second Timothy to Timothy.
