Revelation 19:1-21

Revelation chapters 19 and 20 record the completion of the final judgments being implemented following the blowing of the 7th trumpet with its 7 bowls. These chapters also include details of the Lord Jesus Christ's return on earth.

Revelation chapter 19 is not the same as the events referred to in I Corinthians 15:51-58 and I Thessalonians 4:13-18 when all holy-people (today's Christians) will be gathered together to be with the Lord Jesus Christ in the air away from the earth into the heaven. We will already be with him in our new spiritual bodies during the occurrences recorded in Revelation chapter 19.

Revelation 19:1-16 records what John saw regarding the events that take place in heaven (not on earth as Revelation 16:1 - 18:24). This is the 7th time that John records events in heaven (7 is the number associated with completeness).

Revelation 19:1-3:

^19:1After these-things I heard as a great sound of a big crowd in the heaven saying, "Hallelujah - the salvation and the glory and the ability of our God - ^.2because true and righteous (are) His judgments, because He judged the female-fornicator, the great (female-fornicator), she-who used-to-corrupt the earth in her fornication, and He avenged the blood of His slaves out-from her hand." ^.3And secondly they said², "Hallelujah - and her smoke ascends into the ages of the ages."

John writes: After the things already described in this writing (specifically referring to Revelation chapter 18) I heard as a great sound (a large voice or uttered-tone, loudly) of a throng of many people in the heaven (as opposed to them being on earth) saying...

• "Hallelujah (this word is taken from 2 Hebrew words meaning: "praise" or "you must praise" and a shortened form of "Lord" referring to God as Jah (Yah) emphasizing God's interaction and covenant relationship with that-which He has created; praise the Lord)
  • - the salvation (the safety, the standing and state of being saved, made-safe to God from sins and their consequences, from destruction)
  • and the glory (the importance, splendor, renown)
  • and the ability (the able-power, capability)
    • of (which belongs to) our God -
• because
  • true (the quality and essence of trueness, the consistency is truth - not a copy or an example, but actual, real, genuine)
  • and righteous (just, in the state of justness)
    • are His judgments (His pronounced decisions, the sentences passed, the decisions made or arrived-at by God issuing from His judging process),
• because
  • He judged the female-fornicator (He has actively implemented the decision that He made regarding the prostitute),
    • emphatically and specifically the large female-fornicator (refer to Revelation 17:1-6 and 18),
    • the one who used to corrupt the earth in her fornication (during a past time, historically, she continued to actively cause the earth to decay, to make it into a worse state, within the sphere of action of her performance of being intimate with the devil and the things of the devil; refer to Revelation 14:8, 17:2 and 4, 18:3),
  • and He avenged (carried-out vengeance, revenged, executed right/justice for)
    • the blood of His slaves (the shedding of their blood, killing them, causing their death; these slaves were bond-servants, people from any background who lived their lives to/for God serving in the capacity of being slaves from the working or service relationship viewpoint)
    • out-from her hand (the word "hand" is used figuratively meaning: originating from her power and authority; refer to Revelation 6:10 and 11, 18:20)."

This is the first occurrence of the word "Hallelujah" in the new covenant writings and it is associated with judgment and the destruction of those who are against God - as it was in the old covenant writings (refer to Psalm 104:35).

And a second time the big crowd in the heaven spoke and continue to say (what they said remained applicable without change)...

• "Hallelujah (praise the Lord; as verse 1 above)
  • - and her smoke ascends (the smoke from that location mounts, goes or comes up)
    • into the ages of the ages (for the durations of lifetimes for/throughout the durations of lifetimes - emphatically this will not change until the spirit realm associated with the female-fornicator will be completely destroyed at the time of Revelation 20:15)."

The effects on the physical city of Babylon will cause corresponding effects on those interacting with her, including the city of Jerusalem (refer to Revelation 19:17-21). The effects on the spirit realm associated with the city of Babylon, which is the devil/satan/serpent's realm of operation, will also cause corresponding effects on that spirit realm (refer to Matthew 12:25 and 26, Revelation 16:17-21, 17:18, and 20:1-3).
